Sheboygan Broughton Marsh Educational Center

Location Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin
Project Type New Educational & Park Facility
Project Area 4,100 sq. ft.
Year 2013

Legacy Architecture worked with Sheboygan County and the Friends of the Broughton Sheboygan Marsh to design a new lodge building for the Broughton Sheboygan County Marsh Park. The building will house an atrium for nature displays and exhibits, campground toilet and shower facilities, a kitchen, and a multipurpose room which will be used for community meetings, small banquets, and classroom and laboratory space for Camp Y-Koda's outdoor skills and education program. Sustainability and energy efficiency were factors in the design so that the facility can serve as a demonstration site for a variety of green building techniques. Fundraising for the project is currently underway.
