Faye's Pizza

Location Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Project Type Exterior Restoration
Year 2009 (completed by Jennifer L. Lehrke while a Senior Architect at LJM Architects)

The owner of Faye's Pizza sought to honor its history as one of Sheboygan's most beloved and longest operating restaurants by rehabilitating the exterior of its historic building that was constructed in 1946. The restoration included re-opening enclosed original window and door openings, reconstruction of the failing parapet walls, balancing the south façade with a new large window opening, cleaning and repairing the masonry as well as replacing areas of previously poorly matched brick, and installation of new historically appropriate signage, fabric awnings, and exterior lighting. A new wrought iron fence around the outdoor dining area was installed to complement the building's historic character.
