The period Mediterranean Revival style Allouez Pump House was constructed in 1925 as one of the first components of the then town's government's public water system. The pump house was initially constructed with a pump room and one reservoir. A suburb of Green Bay, the town began municipal water service in 1924 to promote residential development. Continued growth of the town, heavily influenced by this amenity, caused need for an addition onto the pump house of a garage and water softener room during the 1930s and a second reservoir in the 1960s.
