Burlington Cemetery Chapel
| Location | Burlington, Wisconsin |
| Project Type | National Register Nomination |
| Year | 2012 |
While Burlington contains two cemetery chapels, the Burlington Cemetery Chapel is locally significant as a very fine, small-scale example of the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The chapel’s characteristic Richardsonian Romanesque elements include its weighty mass, rough-faced masonry construction, and round arch. The building also incorporates distinct Gothic Revival influences in its faux-buttress pilasters and use of the Tudor arch. The building is believed to be one of only a handful of Richardsonian Romanesque cemetery chapels in Wisconsin and one of the best examples of that style in Racine County.
