Eliza Prange was notable as one of the founders of the H.C. Prange Company, a local store which grew into the largest department store in the state outside of the City of Milwaukee. She was an important contributor in the success of the business, holding many roles within the company during her tenure from clerk, to assistant manager, to treasurer, and vice president. Her Mediterranean Revival style house was designed by Sheboygan architect William C. Weeks in 1923. Never married, she lived there with her sister until her death in 1928.
